Frits Koster

is an experienced meditation instructor and qualified mindfulness teacher and trainer. He was a Buddhist monk for six years and during this period he studied Buddhist psychology at various monasteries in South East Asia. He has written several books on this subject, some of which have been translated into English. He has studied to become an MBSR/MBCT teacher at the Institute for Mindfulness (IvM) in the Netherlands and is affiliated as a trainer at various training institutes across Europe. As a trainer and author he collaborates closely with psychiatrist and psychotherapist Erik van den Brink, with whom he developed a follow-up programme for participants who have already followed a mindfulness-based training (e.g. MBSR or MBCT).  This programme is called Mindfulness-Based Compassionate Living (MBCL). Frits and Erik teach a Teacher Training Programme on MBCL throughout Europe. Together they wrote several books on MBCL,  click here for MBCL books in different languages.

With Zohair Elabd he developed a Teacher Training programme for developing as a teacher Deepening Mindfulness & Mindful Communication (DMMC). With Joyce Cordus he developed Mindfulness-Based Training in Forgiveness (MBTF). This new training (six sessions) is now taught in Dutch and will be taught in German.
